Pine Meadows Farm
The land comprising Pine Meadows Farm was originally purchased by George Lawrence Vance in 1867 and has been continually operated since then by the Vance family. This east Texas gently rolling land was originally cleared of timber and farmed, the main crops being cotton and peanuts. One of the unique products produced on the farm for a time was hand made bricks made from some of the bottomland clay soils. O’Neal Vance, third generation, also produced watermelons and cantelope for a time. The current owner Francie Vance Baker is the fourth generation and the first generation to operate without horses or mules.

Ed and Francie Baker have established improved grass pastures on the cleared land and have been building a herd of quality registered Black Angus cattle since 1997. From their beginning, they have selected quality females and mated them to top genetic bulls through artificial insemination. Their goal is to produce top quality modern genetic bulls and females at an affordable price for the East Texas commercial cattle producers. Most of the cattle sales are sold private treaty at the farm. Contact Ed Baker at 903-857-9930.
